I am a third year Computational Arts student at Concordia University. Although my degree focuses on digital and tangible media, I also focus my studies on painting, drawing, fibers and performance arts because sitting in front of a computer can be tedious.
For the past two year, I have been putting more attention on my painting and performative arts. My work depicts youthful events such as moments of embarrassment or happiness, and explore issues on the duality of emotional states from childhood to adulthood.
Furthermore, during the last semester I have been working in collaboration on a series of public/private artistic performances during which guests are invited to dine with us. These events were created to transcend the individual and cross boundaries between other people especially culturally. The dinners had a thematic context, they were prepared by all the collaborating artists including me, and they were held at one of the artists’ home. These performances were recorded and published on an open blog to be viewed by all. The last diner was done during last year’s Art Matters at the Long Hall, it was blast. My most recent work in this field uses the body and food as subjects with tittles such as “Titties” and “A handful of Apples”. They are short mutli-character shows that include singing, dancing and human interaction.
