PROJECT AND PRODUCTION MANAGER OF HEXAGRAM’S 20TH ANNIVERSARY GALA

Under the supervision of the Hexagram co-directors and general coordinator, this special project manager will be responsible for planning and production of the evening GALA in celebration of Hexagram Network 20th anniversary, as well as the showcase of our members’ accomplishments of 2019-2021. The GALA is scheduled to take place on Thursday, December 2nd at Agora – Coeur des sciences.

TERMS
  • Mandate duration : asap – Friday, December 17th (approx. 15 weeks). The mandate is 14 hours / week;
  • Hourly rate: contingent on experience and student level, compliant with UQAM student-researcher pay rates;
  • Location: Work is primarily remote (in-person optional), with in-person meeting once a week (day tbd);

  • Candidate profile :
  • Registered student for the 2021-2022 academic year, in one of the Network’s partner universities: Concordia University, UQAM, Université de Montréal, McGill University, ÉTS or UQAC;
  • Bilingual (French-English);
  • Familiar with Hexagram and academic contexts;
  • Interested in research-creation in media arts, design, technology and digital culture;
  • Autonomous, well organized and collaborative;
  • Familiar with WordPress, image editing software and social media.
  • Good writing and communication skills;
  • The GALA project manager is the point person for members and team liaison in regards to the programming, which is prepared with the Hexagram co-directors and the Hexagram executive committee. This person will communicate Hexagram’s policies and procedures clearly with the project stakeholders and will bring logistic support to the members. They will contribute to prepare content (written and media) to promote the event, in collaboration with Hexagram communications manager.

    In collaboration with general coordinator, the role of GALA event manager also entails:

  • Participate in the event programming brainstorm;
  • (To be confirmed) Manage a call for proposals, including organizing a jury or selction process;
  • Confirm participants: gather signed publication release and publication permission forms, image or media credits;
  • Prepare detailed schedule;
  • List production technical and human ressources needed, in collaboration with the technical director;
  • Contribute to writing and collecting promotional content about the event;
  • Supervise space scenography in preparation for event day;
  • Help prepare a post-mortem and outcomes report;
  • Publish after event documentation and thank participants;
