Under the supervision of the General Coordinator, the Project Manager leads the planning and production of the Hexagram Network’s GALA. This event highlights the achievements of the Network’s members in 2023–2024. 

The GALA will be held on Thursday, September 26th, from 5 PM to 7 PM, at the Agora of the Cœur des sciences.

Employment conditions

  • 80-hour bank to be completed over 7 weeks;
  • Hourly rate according to UQAM’s current rate for student-researchers, to be determined according to the prevailing wage standards;
  • The mandate ends on October 4th;
  • The mandate can be performed mostly remotely. However, a weekly in-person meeting with the coordination team will be proposed (day to be determined).

Required profile

  • Currently enrolled in a program at one of the Hexagram Network’s partner universities: Concordia, ÉTS, McGill, NAD-UQAC, UQAM, UdeM, or UQAT ;
  • Bilingual (French-English);
  • Good knowledge of Hexagram and the context of university research;
  • Interest in research-creation in media arts, design, technology, and digital culture;
  • Autonomous, organized, and committed to collaborative work;
  • Good writing and communication skills.

Tasks and responsibilities

The Project Manager is responsible for the programming of the 2024 Gala. The concept will be developed with the approval of the co-direction and the executive committee. The person must familiarize themselves with the UQAM event organization guide

In collaboration with the coordination team and the general coordination, the Project Manager must:

  • Participate in the planning of the event program;
  • Coordinate a call for proposals, including organizing a jury or selection process, if necessary;
  • Confirm speakers;
  • Gather all relevant documentation, contracts, and forms;
  • Prepare the detailed event schedule and timeline;
  • List the technical and human resources needed for event production in collaboration with the technical director;
  • Plan and produce promotional tools with the communications officer;
  • Supervise the scenography of the rooms in preparation for the event day;
  • Contribute to the activity report and assessment;
  • Share documentation after the GALA and thank the speakers.
