{"id":17365,"date":"2024-06-04T10:13:22","date_gmt":"2024-06-04T15:13:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hexagram.ca\/mission-en-france\/"},"modified":"2025-11-26T17:13:10","modified_gmt":"2025-11-26T22:13:10","slug":"mission-en-france","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hexagram.ca\/en\/mission-en-france\/","title":{"rendered":"A Mission to Strengthen France-Quebec Links in Research-Creation"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>As part of the project <em>La cr\u00e9ativit\u00e9 au-del\u00e0 de l\u2019humain en art et en science<\/em>, a partnership between Hexagram and Passerelle Arts Sciences Technologies, a delegation of co-researchers, students and collaborators from the Hexagram Network will participate in residency, networking and knowledge dissemination activities in Toulouse, France at the beginning of June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>A Quebec Delegation in Toulouse<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>From June 5th to 12th, the Universit\u00e9 de\u00a0Toulouse Jean-Jaur\u00e8s will host a Quebecois delegation for its Summer School, made up of ten members of the Hexagram Network. Among them, co-investigator and student members from Universit\u00e9 du Qu\u00e9bec \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al and Concordia University will participate in research activities on Toulouse soil. Together with their French collaborators, the delegation will take part in residencies in two scientific laboratories and in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.univ-tlse2.fr\/accueil\/recherche\/la-creation-au-dela-de-lhumain-recherche-creation-dans-une-perspective-art-science\">colloquium \u201cLa cr\u00e9ation au-del\u00e0 de l\u2019humain\u00a0: M\u00e9tabolisme sp\u00e9culatif entre arts et sciences\u201d<\/a>, which aims to bring together knowledge related to projects in the arts and sciences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Research-Creation in Arts and Sciences Projects and Franco-Quebec Cooperation<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>As a reminder, research-creation includes \u201call research approaches that promote creation and aim to produce new aesthetic, theoretical, methodological, epistemological or technical knowledge\u201d (<a href=\"https:\/\/frq.gouv.qc.ca\/en\/program\/research-creation-support-program-rc-2024-2025\/\">Fonds de recherche du Qu\u00e9bec<\/a>). Under the theme \u201cLa cr\u00e9ation au-del\u00e0 de l\u2019humain\u201d, this time it\u2019s robotics, biotechnology and applied mathematics that combines creation with science.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the INRAE Occitane-Toulouse Centre and the Laboratory of Systems Analysis and Architecture (LAAS) of the Centre National de la\u00a0Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), creativity will be practised in the fields of agroecological sciences and engineering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe art-science dimension, or more broadly research-creation, reveals a wealth of new knowledge that needs to be explored. The presence of the Hexagram Network, as well as their contribution to numerous events during their stay, will provide an opportunity to pursue this rapprochement, which is both desired and eagerly awaited by French researchers.\u201d\u2014Frederick Garcia, Research Director, INREA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The interdisciplinary approach made possible by the partnership between the arts and the sciences is leading to unprecedented advances in robotics, artificial intelligence, and the production of biomaterials.
