Le CDP est une ancienne de gare de triage situ\u00e9e aux abords du quartier du Mile End \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al r\u00e9habilit\u00e9e en espace vert au d\u00e9but des ann\u00e9es 2000. N\u00e9 d\u2019une collaboration entre Brice Ammar-Khodja [membre \u00e9tudiant au doctorat, Universit\u00e9 Concordia \/ EnsAD, Universit\u00e9 PSL, Paris], Philippe Vandal [membre \u00e9tudiant \u00e0 la ma\u00eetrise, Universit\u00e9 Concordia] et l\u2019organisation citoyenne les Amis du Champ des Possibles (association en charge de la cogestion et de la pr\u00e9servation du Champ des Possibles), \u00c9cotones s\u2019est tenu sur le site du CDP le 14 Octobre 2022. Compos\u00e9 d\u2019une table ronde revisit\u00e9e sous forme de marche et d\u2019une exposition <em>in situ<\/em>, <em>\u00c9cotones<\/em> a mobilis\u00e9 pr\u00e8s de 40 participant.e.s autour d\u2019une probl\u00e9matique: articuler une r\u00e9flexion esth\u00e9tique, critique et sociale sur les polluants des sols et explorer de nouveaux moyens esth\u00e9tiques pour visualiser ces r\u00e9sidus imperceptibles. La table ronde a r\u00e9uni diff\u00e9rent\u00b7e\u00b7s intervenant\u00b7e\u00b7s issu\u00b7e\u00b7s des milieux citoyens, acad\u00e9miques, artistiques, associatifs et municipaux et visait \u00e0 donner diff\u00e9rentes perspectives sur cette nature urbaine atypique. Parmi-iels: Dr Jill Didur (doyenne associ\u00e9e et professeure dans le d\u00e9partement d\u2019anglais, Universit\u00e9 Concordia), Dr Amy R. Poteete (professeure associ\u00e9e, D\u00e9partement de Sciences Politiques, Universit\u00e9 Concordia), \u00c9mile Boisseau-Bouvier (membre du comit\u00e9 ex\u00e9cutif les Amis du Champ des Possibles et analyste politique, climatique et transition \u00e9cologique),&nbsp; Giulianna Laurent (charg\u00e9e de projet, arrondissement du Plateau-Mont-Royal), Brice Ammar-Khodja et Philippe Vandal. Parall\u00e8lement, une exposition regroupant des \u0153uvres de Brice Ammar-Khodja et de Philippe Vandal en lien avec les polluants contenus dans les sols s\u2019est tenue \u00e0 m\u00eame le site. L&rsquo;installation r\u00e9investit cette technique pour activer les m\u00e9taux lourds et les contaminants magn\u00e9tiques dans les sols de CDP. L&rsquo;installation est compos\u00e9e de deux sculptures en aluminium rappelant certaines des structures m\u00e9talliques subsistant depuis l\u2019exploitation pass\u00e9e du site. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la classification par degr\u00e9 de contamination des sols du CDP, ces sculptures \u00e9ph\u00e9m\u00e8res sont plac\u00e9es sur les zones pollu\u00e9es par des m\u00e9taux lourds. Les sculptures affleurent le sol et sont recouvertes de terre. Sous les sculptures se trouve un dispositif cin\u00e9tique compos\u00e9 d&rsquo;aimants permanents de grade N45 activ\u00e9s par des moteurs command\u00e9s par un microcontr\u00f4leur. Lorsque les aimants permanents sont mis en mouvement par les moteurs, les champs magn\u00e9tiques activent la mati\u00e8re. Parall\u00e8lement, l&rsquo;installation explore le potentiel sonore des sols et des r\u00e9sidus. Les sculptures int\u00e8grent un microphone piezo\u00e9lectrique reli\u00e9 \u00e0 un mini amplificateur audio TDA2822M et un syst\u00e8me de transmission Bluetooth qui envoie le signal audio \u00e0 un hautparleur Bluetooth dissimul\u00e9 dans l&rsquo;environnement. Le microphone piezo amplifie les sons r\u00e9sultants des collisions entre les diff\u00e9rents r\u00e9sidus. En animant les r\u00e9sidus organiques et inorganiques, la mati\u00e8re et les mat\u00e9riaux contenus dans les sols du CDP, <em>Symphony of the Stones<\/em> vise \u00e0 g\u00e9n\u00e9rer de nouvelles relations sensorielles entre les humains et les sols, notamment en favorisant l&rsquo;engagement du corps. Toutes deux s&rsquo;appuient sur une m\u00e9thodologie de recherche-cr\u00e9ation en art-science \u00e0 travers laquelle des analyses qualitatives scientifiques sont reconfigur\u00e9es et repens\u00e9es par le biais du design sp\u00e9culatif et des qualit\u00e9s performatives des instruments et m\u00e9thodologies scientifiques. <em>fluorescent forensics<\/em> s&rsquo;inspire de l&rsquo;esth\u00e9tique de l&rsquo;investigation et de la criminalistique environnementale, consid\u00e9rant la r\u00e9fraction produite par des \u00e9chantillons et la repr\u00e9sentation chromatique de la contamination comme principal m\u00e9dium artistique. Sa recherche explore les impacts socio-environnementaux de mat\u00e9riaux r\u00e9siduels n\u00e9glig\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle de la ville. Son travail s\u2019int\u00e9resse particuli\u00e8rement aux potentiels interactifs et sensibles de la mati\u00e8re afin de permettre des dialogues critiques entre les citoyens, les r\u00e9sidus urbains et les environnements publics. Pour ce faire, il met en \u0153uvre des dispositifs artistiques urbains donnant \u00e0 voir les imperceptibles mutations des polluants, contaminants et autres r\u00e9sidus n\u00e9fastes.<br \/>\nBrice poursuit actuellement un doctorat co-supervis\u00e9 entre l&rsquo;Universit\u00e9 Concordia  de Montr\u00e9al et l&rsquo;EnsAD, EnsadLab &#8211; Universit\u00e9 PSL (Paris). Co-directeur de la revue de typographie Pied de Mouche, Brice Ammar-Khodja, cr\u00e9e des ateliers et des outils p\u00e9dagogiques pour le grand public.<br \/>\nSes \u0153uvres ont \u00e9t\u00e9 expos\u00e9es \u00e0 Ars Electronica, MUTEK, Centre Pompidou, Biennale internationale du Design, la Cit\u00e9 internationale des Arts, V2_Institute for Unstable Media, et au Mus\u00e9e historique de la Ville de Strasbourg.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #ffffff;\"><b>Philippe Vandal<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #ffffff;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/philippevandal.github.io\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Philippe Vandal<\/a> est un artiste des nouveaux m\u00e9dias bas\u00e9 \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al. Il est membre-\u00e9tudiant de l&rsquo;Institut Milieux de l&rsquo;Universit\u00e9 Concordia, de la Chaire de recherche en pratiques critiques des mat\u00e9riaux et de la mat\u00e9rialit\u00e9, du Topological Media Lab, du Speculative Life Cluster Biolab et d&rsquo;Hexagram. \u00c0 l&rsquo;intersection de pr\u00e9occupations technologiques, \u00e9cologiques et artistiques, son travail fait le lien entre le design critique bio-inspir\u00e9, la chimie environnementale et les interventions m\u00e9diatiques tangibles sp\u00e9cifiques \u00e0 un site.
