{"id":21168,"date":"2025-06-18T15:14:36","date_gmt":"2025-06-18T20:14:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hexagram.ca\/?p=21168"},"modified":"2026-05-12T08:42:32","modified_gmt":"2026-05-12T13:42:32","slug":"reportage-isea-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hexagram.ca\/fr\/reportage-isea-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"Reportage ISEA\u00a02025"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ub3d9\ub3d9 (\u61a7\u61a7, Dong-Dong) The Creators\u2019 Universe<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Par : Paloma Leyton<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>ISEA&nbsp;2025 s\u2019est tenu \u00e0 S\u00e9oul, en Cor\u00e9e du Sud, du 23 au 29&nbsp;mai.<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>ISEA, acronyme de <em>International Symposium on Electronic and Emerging Art<\/em> (Symposium international sur l\u2019art \u00e9lectronique et \u00e9mergent), r\u00e9unit des artistes, chercheurs, universitaires, commissaires et autres professionnels de l\u2019art autour des th\u00e9matiques liant art et technologie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Au c\u0153ur d\u2019un programme acad\u00e9mique dense \u2014 avec plus de quinze panels par jour, trois conf\u00e9rences principales et une riche s\u00e9lection d\u2019ateliers \u2014 les participants qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois se sont d\u00e9marqu\u00e9s, notamment huit membres cochercheurs du R\u00e9seau Hexagram.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>L\u2019univers des cr\u00e9ateurs<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Tout au long de l\u2019\u00e9v\u00e9nement, cr\u00e9ation, recherche et enseignement semblaient \u00e9troitement li\u00e9s, promettant de susciter des discussions vibrantes dans des lieux inspirants \u00e0 travers la ville de S\u00e9oul. Ce rassemblement international se voulait une plateforme d\u2019\u00e9change et de r\u00e9flexion collective sur la mani\u00e8re dont l\u2019art et la technologie peuvent approfondir notre compr\u00e9hension du monde \u2014 et influencer la fa\u00e7on dont nous choisissons de l\u2019habiter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le th\u00e8me de cette ann\u00e9e, \u00ab\u2009The Creator\u2019s Universe\u2009\u00bb, comme d\u00e9fini par l\u2019ISEA, vise \u00e0 \u00e9tablir un pont entre l\u2019Orient et l\u2019Occident \u2014 r\u00e9unissant Socrate et le Yi Jing. Aspirant \u00e0 \u00ab\u2009transcender la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 des conflits et des divisions, en imaginant une vague mondiale d\u2019unit\u00e9 inspir\u00e9e par un nouvel \u00e9merveillement\u2009\u00bb, ce th\u00e8me positionne l\u2019acte de cr\u00e9ation comme une force qui \u00e9l\u00e8ve l\u2019humanit\u00e9, ouvrant des voies vers des \u00e9motions partag\u00e9es et une communication entre les peuples. Ils ont \u00e9t\u00e9 invit\u00e9s comme conf\u00e9renciers au symposium, contribuant respectivement \u00e0 la pr\u00e9sentation d\u2019Elektra et aux panels <em>Artist Talk\u00a05<\/em> et <em>Game Art<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ricardo Dal Farra [membre cochercheur, Concordia], Bart Simon [membre cochercheur, Concordia] et Sofian Audry [codirecteur d\u2019Hexagram et membre cochercheur, UQAM] ont \u00e9galement pris part \u00e0 divers panels. Cette derni\u00e8re intervention, pr\u00e9sent\u00e9e par Alex Lee, mettait en lumi\u00e8re un projet r\u00e9alis\u00e9 lors d\u2019une r\u00e9sidence Hexagram en 2024, ax\u00e9 sur l\u2019utilisation de techniques d\u2019animation, de la robotique et de mod\u00e8les d\u2019apprentissage par IA pour entra\u00eener les mouvements de deux personnages virtuels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Enfin, Christopher Salter [membre honoraire] a pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 une installation au Hangaram Design Museum et a particip\u00e9 \u00e0 deux panels distincts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Louis-Philippe Rondeau&nbsp;: sur l\u2019ab\u00eeme des r\u00e9seaux sociaux<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-layout-3 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/patenteux.com\/wp\/portfolio\/labyme-2025\/\">Louis-Philippe Rondeau<\/a> a pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 une conf\u00e9rence artistique dans le cadre du panel de la galerie ELEKTRA. Il y a d\u00e9voil\u00e9 son plus r\u00e9cent projet, qui cherche \u00e0 r\u00e9interpr\u00e9ter les images nuisibles et absurdes qui inondent les r\u00e9seaux sociaux, afin d\u2019en extraire une forme de beaut\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/patenteux.com\/wp\/portfolio\/labyme-2025\/\">L\u2019ab\u00eeme<\/a> <\/em>s\u2019inspire du d\u00e9filement infini auquel on peut succomber en naviguant dans des contenus g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9s par l\u2019IA \u2014 ou <em>AI slop<\/em> \u2014 qui saturent l\u2019espace num\u00e9rique, notamment sur des plateformes comme TikTok. Bien que souvent per\u00e7us comme inoffensifs ou humoristiques, ces contenus transforment notre rapport aux images et \u00e0 l\u2019information, contribuant \u00e0 une forme d\u2019\u00e9rosion cognitive (<em>brain rot<\/em>) tout en renfor\u00e7ant les algorithmes qui les propagent. Mais \u00e0 mesure que le spectateur s\u2019en approche, un reflet d\u00e9form\u00e9 de son propre portrait \u00e9merge. Cette mise en abyme r\u00e9v\u00e8le notre propre r\u00f4le dans l\u2019alimentation des algorithmes qui, selon ce que nous consommons, peuvent alt\u00e9rer notre attention et notre perception.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Yann Breuleux&nbsp;: sur la mati\u00e8re premi\u00e8re<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-layout-4 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:66.66%\">\n<p>Yann Breuleux a pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 une conf\u00e9rence portant sur une s\u00e9rie r\u00e9cente de travaux. <em>Mati\u00e8re Premi\u00e8re<\/em> a d\u00e9but\u00e9 pendant la pand\u00e9mie sous la forme d\u2019un test technique&nbsp;: la num\u00e9risation de son propre visage. En le multipliant et en l\u2019augmentant, ce visage a \u00e9t\u00e9 transform\u00e9 en un environnement virtuel, ensuite converti en images \u00e0 travers la photographie in-game, s\u2019inspirant de l\u2019univers min\u00e9ral.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En syst\u00e9matisant cette transposition de l\u2019environnement en espace narratif, l\u2019exp\u00e9rience esth\u00e9tique a ensuite \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9sent\u00e9e en format fulldome. Le r\u00e9sultat est une s\u00e9rie d\u2019animations longues (environ 10 heures), interpolant divers points de vue \u00e0 l\u2019int\u00e9rieur de l\u2019espace virtuel. C\u2019est plut\u00f4t \u00e0 travers l\u2019action que l\u2019on d\u00e9couvre de nouveaux outils et de nouvelles fa\u00e7ons de faire \u2014 une dynamique centrale \u00e0 la fois dans la recherche-cr\u00e9ation et dans la jouabilit\u00e9. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-layout-6 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Leur jeu <em>Things Happen<\/em>, d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 lors d\u2019un <em>game jam<\/em> de 72 heures, consiste \u00e0 empiler des cubes qui apparaissent toutes les dix secondes sur une plateforme. Cette m\u00e9canique simple devient progressivement plus difficile, les cubes continuant de tomber tandis que la plateforme r\u00e9tr\u00e9cit. R\u00e9flexion sur l\u2019\u00e9chec, ce jeu impossible \u00e0 gagner devient une m\u00e9taphore de la vie, o\u00f9 il est impossible de tout g\u00e9rer \u2014 ou de tout retenir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Selon Chiapello et Glesser, dans la cr\u00e9ation vid\u00e9oludique, les outils ne d\u00e9finissent pas n\u00e9cessairement ce que l\u2019on peut faire avec eux&nbsp;: ils peuvent \u00eatre d\u00e9tourn\u00e9s ou consid\u00e9r\u00e9s comme des partenaires cr\u00e9atifs. Cette approche met en lumi\u00e8re l\u2019agentivit\u00e9 des outils eux-m\u00eames, nous invitant \u00e0 repenser leur r\u00f4le dans des processus o\u00f9 la surprise et l\u2019impr\u00e9vu comptent davantage que l\u2019ex\u00e9cution parfaite d\u2019une id\u00e9e initiale. Elle ouvre \u00e9galement un espace de r\u00e9flexion critique sur les outils et leurs biais, et sur la revalorisation de dimensions moins visibles \u2014 comme le f\u00e9minin. Les outils technologiques de pointe semblent effectivement enrichir l\u2019enseignement artistique \u2014 lorsqu\u2019ils sont utilis\u00e9s de mani\u00e8re \u00e0 encourager une pens\u00e9e critique sur la technologie et ses applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-layout-11 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:66.66%\">\n<p>Par exemple, <strong>Jean Chu<\/strong> a encourag\u00e9 ses \u00e9tudiants universitaires \u00e0 d\u00e9finir l\u2019intelligence artificielle par des moyens non technologiques \u2014 tels que la sculpture, la bande dessin\u00e9e, le texte ou la musique. L\u2019exposition qui en a r\u00e9sult\u00e9 a offert une r\u00e9flexion pertinente sur la d\u00e9pendance des jeunes envers l\u2019IA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Une autre intervention rafra\u00eechissante est venue d\u2019un trio de musiciens et p\u00e9dagogues sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9s dans l\u2019improvisation transculturelle. <strong>Badie Khaleghian<\/strong>, <strong>Aruna Kharod<\/strong> et <strong>Kate Campbell Strauss<\/strong> ont ouvert leur atelier par une improvisation en direct m\u00ealant saxophone, sitar et musique \u00e9lectronique. Ils ont ensuite pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 une application musicale qu\u2019ils ont d\u00e9velopp\u00e9e, avant d\u2019animer un atelier o\u00f9 des non-musiciens ont pu jouer ensemble. Toutefois, \u00e0 un niveau de lecture plus profond, la majorit\u00e9 de ces r\u00e9flexions semblaient orient\u00e9es vers la ma\u00eetrise des proc\u00e9d\u00e9s technologiques de pointe comme finalit\u00e9 artistique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Si la question du <em>\u00ab\u2009pourquoi nous faisons ce que nous faisons\u2009\u00bb<\/em> semble relativement claire \u00e0 travers les communications pr\u00e9sent\u00e9es lors du symposium de cette ann\u00e9e, il serait peut-\u00eatre tout aussi n\u00e9cessaire d\u2019explorer la question du <em>\u00ab\u2009pour qui\u2009\u00bb<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La r\u00e9flexion manquante \u2014 non pas sur les proc\u00e9dures techniques ou sur le \u00ab\u2009soi\u2009\u00bb, mais sur le ressenti et sur \u00ab\u2009l\u2019autre\u2009\u00bb \u2014 pourrait permettre d\u2019aborder directement les sensations du public. Non pas en pensant ce public comme une entit\u00e9 large et abstraite, mais comme un ensemble d\u2019individus sp\u00e9cifiques, avec lesquels des \u00e9changes \u2014 ou simplement des moments \u2014 significatifs peuvent \u00eatre cr\u00e9\u00e9s. Cela pourrait nous aider \u00e0 mieux articuler l\u2019humanit\u00e9 de nos \u00e9changes, \u00e0 \u00eatre plus attentifs \u00e0 la mani\u00e8re dont nous habitons le monde, et \u00e0 mieux nous situer en tant qu\u2019individus au sein d\u2019un syst\u00e8me de relations.
