Cette exposition marque l\u2019aboutissement de son projet de recherche-cr\u00e9ation r\u00e9alis\u00e9 dans le cadre de sa ma\u00eetrise en arts visuels et m\u00e9diatiques, sous la direction de Gis\u00e8le Trudel [membre cochercheure, UQAM].&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>S\u2019inscrivant dans une r\u00e9flexion sur le sol, envisag\u00e9 en tant que paysage spatiotemporel travers\u00e9 par les dynamiques humain\u00b7e\u00b7s et plus-qu\u2019humain\u00b7e\u00b7s (Haraway, 2020), <em>Appareil r\u00e9siduel<\/em> explore le site postindustriel de l\u2019ancienne compagnie Dominion Bridge, \u00e0 Lachine (Montr\u00e9al). L\u2019installation s\u2019attarde aux r\u00e9sidus du lieu, per\u00e7us comme un terreau fertile pour observer les forces d\u2019enchev\u00eatrement de la \u00ab\u2009natureculture\u2009\u00bb (Haraway, 2003). Elle d\u00e9ploie une pratique o\u00f9 la stratification et la contamination deviennent des processus cr\u00e9atifs, invitant \u00e0 repenser, avec le vivant, les relations entre alt\u00e9ration et cr\u00e9ation.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Processus et explorations interdisciplinaires&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>C\u2019est en tissant des liens entre arts, sciences et philosophie que Suzanne Landry con\u00e7oit ce projet. Inspir\u00e9e par les approches d\u2019Ed Ruscha (<em>Stains<\/em>, 1969) et de Susan Schuppli (<em>Learning From Ice<\/em>, 2019\u20132025), elle amorce une collaboration avec le D\u00e9partement des Sciences de la Terre et de l\u2019Atmosph\u00e8re de l\u2019UQAM.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s du technicien g\u00e9ologue Diogo Barnetche, elle se forme \u00e0 l\u2019utilisation du microscope num\u00e9rique Keyence VHX-7000. Cet instrument lui permet d\u2019observer en d\u00e9tail des \u00e9chantillons pr\u00e9lev\u00e9s sur des sites contamin\u00e9s de Montr\u00e9al. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la puissance de sa lentille (250 mm) ainsi qu&rsquo;\u00e0 ses nombreuses fonctionnalit\u00e9s, dont la visualisation en animation 3D, l\u2019instrument optique r\u00e9v\u00e8le une granulom\u00e9trie insoup\u00e7onn\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019\u0153il nu.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u00e0 o\u00f9 le g\u00e9ologue identifie du plastique, du verre ou encore des min\u00e9raux tels que le sable, l\u2019artiste per\u00e7oit un enchev\u00eatrement de poussi\u00e8res color\u00e9es, non s\u00e9diment\u00e9es, aux textures et aux formes \u00e9voquant des r\u00e9cits artistiques, \u00e0 la fois sensibles et sp\u00e9culatifs.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video controls src=\"https:\/\/hexagram.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/DEMO62_002.mp4\"><\/video><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><sup>Landry, S.(2022). <em>\u00c9chantillon #10_DB<\/em>. Extrait vid\u00e9o du logiciel num\u00e9rique Keyence.&nbsp;<\/sup><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Les savoirs scientifiques et artistiques se croisent et s\u2019enrichissent mutuellement, nourrissant l\u2019exploration conceptuelle de la stratification, entendue ici dans le sens propos\u00e9 par Deleuze et Guattari (1980). Les auteurs la d\u00e9crivent comme une organisation de mat\u00e9rialit\u00e9s qui sert \u00e0 stabiliser, un instant, le chaos des flux.\u202f Ce processus interroge les enchev\u00eatrements et les zones de rencontre : cet \u00ab entre \u00bb mouvant o\u00f9 les relations se forment, se transforment et se recomposent.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dans cette perspective, Suzanne Landry acc\u00e9l\u00e8re la d\u00e9composition de mat\u00e9riaux r\u00e9siduels recueillis sur le site, \u00e0 travers divers proc\u00e9d\u00e9s physiques, artisanaux et chimiques : compression, broyage, teintures, pigments, laques. Elle mobilise \u00e9galement l\u2019eau dans ses diff\u00e9rents \u00e9tats (gel, d\u00e9gel, \u00e9vaporation) pour accompagner ces transformations.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ses explorations prennent forme dans des agencements qui \u00ab font avec \u00bb les forces du vivant, en s\u2019inscrivant dans une logique de co-pilotage plut\u00f4t que de ma\u00eetrise. Photo : Suzanne Landry.<\/sup><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Mise en espace<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>La semaine de r\u00e9sidence \u00e0 la salle d\u2019exp\u00e9rimentation Hexagram, qui pr\u00e9c\u00e9dait l\u2019exposition, a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9terminante pour affiner la mise en sc\u00e8ne. Suzanne Landry commence par projeter le cartel au sol, puis teste sa projection sur un rideau. Ce dernier s\u2019impose rapidement. En transformant l\u2019espace, il cr\u00e9e une barri\u00e8re souple qui dissimule la station active depuis l\u2019entr\u00e9e et permet une d\u00e9couverte progressive des \u00e9l\u00e9ments de l\u2019installation.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u2019\u0153uvre se d\u00e9ploie en trois zones correspondant \u00e0 trois \u00e9tapes de cr\u00e9ation du processus\u202f:&nbsp; l\u2019identification, la transformation, l\u2019\u00e9volution. Cette configuration propose une lecture non lin\u00e9aire, o\u00f9 le regard circule, s\u2019arr\u00eate, revient, dans un mouvement semblable \u00e0 celui de la stratification elle-m\u00eame.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dans le premier espace, un grand cartel pr\u00e9sente les \u00ab t\u00e9moins actifs \u00bb d\u2019<em>Appareil r\u00e9siduel<\/em>. Leurs noms, projet\u00e9s sur le rideau, ondulent dans un m\u00eame mouvement, comme port\u00e9s par l\u2019eau ou par une onde sismique. Candidate \u00e0 la ma\u00eetrise en arts visuels et m\u00e9diatiques \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 du Qu\u00e9bec \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al, elle est \u00e9galement titulaire d\u2019un baccalaur\u00e9at en design industriel (Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al, 1985). Sa pratique en peinture et en dessin \u00e9largi explore les notions de paysage et de bior\u00e9gion en lien avec les changements climatiques, dans une d\u00e9marche o\u00f9 recherche-cr\u00e9ation et citoyennet\u00e9 engag\u00e9e se conjuguent.<\/p>   \n\n<p>Ses \u0153uvres ont \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9sent\u00e9es dans une quinzaine d\u2019expositions au Qu\u00e9bec et figurent dans plusieurs collections priv\u00e9es (Europe et Am\u00e9riques), ainsi que dans une collection publique (Ville de Saint-Lambert).
