Travelling Artists in Times of War<\/em><\/strong> est un \u00e9v\u00e9nement d\u00e9di\u00e9e \u00e0 la performance sonore qui explore comment les artistes peuvent, selon les termes de Howard Zinn, transcender les conditions actuelles tout en assumant leurs responsabilit\u00e9s \u00e9thiques.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le vendredi 1er mai 2026, le Grace Exhibition Space<\/a> \u2014 espace new-yorkais d\u00e9di\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019art performance \u2014 accueillera une table ronde \u00e0 17 h sur les th\u00e8mes de l\u2019art et de la mobilit\u00e9 dans le contexte politique actuel. Suivront \u00e0 20 h les performances de Keiko Uenishi<\/a> (Japon\/\u00c9tats-Unis), Katherine Liberovskaya<\/a> (Canada\/\u00c9tats-Unis), Hra\u00efr Hratchian<\/a> (Arm\u00e9nie\/Qu\u00e9bec), Soledad Coyoli<\/a> avec Gabrielle Couillard (Qu\u00e9bec\/Mexique) et Zazalie Z<\/a>. (Qu\u00e9bec). Cette soir\u00e9e explore la performance comme moyen de repenser l\u2019\u00e9coute, l\u2019intelligence sensible et la solidarit\u00e9 en p\u00e9riode de crise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inspir\u00e9e par l\u2019id\u00e9e de Zinn<\/a> que \u00ab\u2009les grandes questions du monde rel\u00e8vent de la responsabilit\u00e9 des citoyens\u2009\u00bb, cette soir\u00e9e invite les artistes \u00e0 contester, par des performances sonores exp\u00e9rimentales, les mythologies patriotiques, les habitudes institutionnelles et les injonctions \u00e0 l\u2019unification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Organis\u00e9 par le cochercheur \u00c9ric L\u00e9tourneau<\/strong>, artiste interm\u00e9dia et compositeur qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois, l\u2019\u00e9v\u00e9nement est copr\u00e9sent\u00e9 avec le Laboratoire Musiques cach\u00e9es<\/a> du Groupe de recherche de m\u00e9diatisation du son de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 du Qu\u00e9bec \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al, dans le cadre des Rencontres interdisciplinaires 2026<\/a> et soutenu par le programme Hexa_Out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Soledad Coyoli<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Universit\u00e9 du Qu\u00e9bec \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lx chanteur\u00b7euse et compositeur\u00b7ice, Soledad Coyoli<\/strong> a grandi entre les peintures surr\u00e9alistes de Leonora Carrington et Remedios Varo, les sculptures de sa grand-m\u00e8re, la Malinche, la llorona, les pi\u00e8ces d\u00e9tach\u00e9es des robots de son oncle et la musique sacr\u00e9e que son p\u00e8re \u00e9coutait. Son travail sonore s\u2019inspire de la tradition de la chanson mexicaine, et s\u2019int\u00e9resse \u00e0 la rencontre entre diff\u00e9rentes voix\/langues\/cultures\/technologies, ainsi qu\u2019aux racines identitaires n\u00e1huatl (son nom signifie \u00ab\u2009clochette\u2009\u00bb en n\u00e1huatl). Sa musique, laur\u00e9ate de l\u2019UNESCO-ASCHBERG en 2014, a \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9sent\u00e9e dans certains des centres culturels les plus importants du Mexique, tels que le MUAC (Mus\u00e9e Universitaire d\u2019art Contemporain), le mus\u00e9e Franz Mayer et le Centre de Culture num\u00e9rique \u00e0 la ville de Mexique. Depuis son arriv\u00e9e \u00e0 Tiohti\u00e1 : ke\/Mooniyang\/Montr\u00e9al, son travail a trouv\u00e9 une nouvelle orientation : la voix et le corps comme territoires uniques, propres et non r\u00e9p\u00e9tables, mais aussi comme mati\u00e8res fluides, myst\u00e9rieuses, mutantes et collaboratives. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apr\u00e8s un baccalaur\u00e9at en \u00e9tudes th\u00e9\u00e2trales \u00e0 l\u2019UQAM, Gabrielle Couillard<\/strong> explore le spectacle vivant \u00e0 travers le son et la production, avec un int\u00e9r\u00eat marqu\u00e9 pour la conception d\u2019espaces sonores \u00e9vocateurs. Elle poursuit actuellement une ma\u00eetrise en recherche\u2011cr\u00e9ation en m\u00e9dias exp\u00e9rimentaux, o\u00f9 elle combine po\u00e9sie, field recording et transformations sonores pour cr\u00e9er des univers sonores abstraits. Sa pratique s\u2019articule autour des enjeux de spatialisation et d\u2019immersivit\u00e9, tant sur les plans technique que cr\u00e9atif. Elle s\u2019int\u00e9resse \u00e9galement \u00e0 la relation entre le corps et l\u2019espace \u00e0 travers le son, nourrie par sa propre exp\u00e9rience du handicap (Dispositif Espace\u2011Corps, UQAM, 2022\u20112023). Depuis 2019, elle int\u00e8gre l\u2019improvisation sonore par t\u00e9l\u00e9matique \u00e0 sa pratique, collaborant avec des artistes de Colombie, de Toronto et de Montr\u00e9al, notamment dans des contextes de diffusion en ligne et de performance sonore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hra\u00efr Hratchian<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Depuis 1995, Hra\u00efr Hratchian<\/strong> d\u00e9veloppe une pratique interdisciplinaire alliant musique, performance et cin\u00e9ma exp\u00e9rimental. Fondateur des groupes rock montr\u00e9alais De la Caucase et La D\u00e9sunion, il collabore comme doudoukiste avec divers artistes et groupes internationaux, dont Einst\u00fcrzende Neubauten. Depuis 2014, il r\u00e9alise des films exp\u00e9rimentaux et se produit sur sc\u00e8ne au Canada, aux \u00c9tats-Unis et \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tranger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Katherine Liberovskaya<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Katherine Liberovskaya<\/strong> est une artiste intermedia canadienne bas\u00e9e \u00e0 New York, active en vid\u00e9o exp\u00e9rimentale depuis les ann\u00e9es 1980. Elle a cr\u00e9\u00e9 de nombreuses \u0153uvres vid\u00e9o, installations et performances pr\u00e9sent\u00e9es internationalement. Depuis 2001, sa pratique se concentre sur l\u2019intersection de l\u2019image en mouvement et du son, \u00e0 travers des projections, installations et performances audiovisuelles. Elle collabore r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement avec des compositeurs et artistes sonores dans des concerts improvis\u00e9s m\u00ealant vid\u00e9o et son, o\u00f9 ses visuels en direct sont con\u00e7us comme une \u00ab\u202fmusique pour les yeux\u202f\u00bb. Pendant plus de 22 ans, elle a travaill\u00e9 \u00e9troitement avec le compositeur Phill Niblock sur des projets de performances, vid\u00e9os et installations. Curatrice active, elle organise depuis 2005 les soir\u00e9es Screen Compositions \u00e0 Experimental Intermedia (NYC) et, depuis 2006, les salons OptoSonic Tea. Docteure en pratique artistique (UQAM, 2014), elle est actuellement directrice artistique d\u2019Experimental Intermedia NYC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Keiko Uenishi<\/strong> est une artiste sonore et compositrice socio\u2011environnementale, membre fondatrice de SHARE.nyc depuis 2001. Son travail repose sur l\u2019exploration des relations entre m\u00e9moire, perception auditive et espace, dans des contextes sociologiques, culturels et psychologiques. Son projet de recherche en cours, Partitions : Dividers, Connectors, Gray\u2011zones, Neighbours in Aural Space<\/em>, examine une \u00ab\u202fpara\u2011sph\u00e8re\u202f\u00bb o\u00f9 les stimuli sonores traversent les fronti\u00e8res perceptuelles, perturbant la reconnaissance spatiale, le temps et les relations interpersonnelles. Parmi ses \u0153uvres figurent Car d\u00e9cal\u00e9 (l\u00e9g\u00e8rement)<\/em> et SOUNDLEAK : TheROOM<\/em>. Elle a collabor\u00e9 notamment avec Katherine Liberovskaya, Christian Marclay et Darryl Montgomery Hell, avec qui elle a co\u2011initi\u00e9 l\u2019unit\u00e9 de feedback Em\u00ed no Izu<\/em>. Son travail a \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 internationalement, notamment au Whitney Museum, au MoMA PS1, \u00e0 la Tate Britain et au Museu de Serralves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zazalie Z.<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Artiste interdisciplinaire<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Artiste interdisciplinaire, Zazalie Zaz<\/strong> (Nathalie Dion) est active sur la sc\u00e8ne culturelle depuis plus de 40 ans. Elle explore l\u2019image, le son et le langage \u00e0 travers la voix, la vid\u00e9o, la musique, la po\u00e9sie, l\u2019art web et la gravure, \u00e9voluant autant dans les musiques actuelles et exp\u00e9rimentales que dans les arts visuels et m\u00e9diatiques. Boursi\u00e8re des Conseils des arts du Qu\u00e9bec et du Canada, ainsi que r\u00e9cipiendaire d\u2019une bourse SOCAN, elle pr\u00e9sente ses \u0153uvres comme chanteuse et performeuse dans de nombreux festivals et centres d\u2019artistes au Canada et \u00e0 l\u2019international. Ses projets ont \u00e9t\u00e9 diffus\u00e9s notamment en Espagne, en Italie et au Canada. Elle collabore r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement \u00e0 des projets radiophoniques et musicaux, dont Yodel in Hi\u2011Fi<\/em>. Auteure\u2011interpr\u00e8te, elle a fait partie des formations Nitroglyc\u00e9rine et Pois Z\u2019ont Rouges et s\u2019est produite dans divers festivals internationaux.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
