L\u2019\u0153uvre d\u00e9ploie une image hyperr\u00e9aliste, lente, douce et peut-\u00eatre banale, qui se m\u00e9fie du logiciel qui la produit. Les espaces virtuels impeccables et st\u00e9riles couramment repr\u00e9sent\u00e9s dans les visualisations architecturales sont remplac\u00e9s ici par des espaces poussi\u00e9reux, sales et encombr\u00e9s. Bien que leur rendu soit proche de la qualit\u00e9 photor\u00e9aliste, les images \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9cran n\u2019ont aucun rapport avec le monde r\u00e9el. Elles sont enti\u00e8rement g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9es par un ordinateur dont la production se r\u00e9sume \u00e0 des milliers de \u201cfichiers d\u2019images\u201d silencieux. Il n\u2019y a pas de vent qui souffle, et les lieux repr\u00e9sent\u00e9s ne sont nulle part en particulier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Plut\u00f4t qu&rsquo;une image de synth\u00e8se qui nous s\u00e9duit par l&rsquo;exc\u00e8s, il s&rsquo;agit d&rsquo;une image qui demande de la patience. \u00c0 l&rsquo;\u00e9cran, la perspective num\u00e9rique recule lentement, puis avance, oscillant entre deux positions fixes tout en traversant de nouveaux environnements. L&rsquo;attention semble s&rsquo;attarder sur des objets banals : une canette ray\u00e9e, une cabine de toilettes ou des feuilles dans le vent. L&rsquo;animation se d\u00e9roule lentement. Les choses restent inexpliqu\u00e9es et l&rsquo;accent est mis sur les images statiques ou en mouvement lent. Le son de l&rsquo;\u0153uvre joue avec les conventions audio associ\u00e9es aux jeux vid\u00e9o, aux graphiques anim\u00e9s et aux publicit\u00e9s, rappelant constamment au spectateur le caract\u00e8re artificiel de ces images.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Timothy Thomasson est membre \u00e9tudiant et laur\u00e9ate de l\u2019appel \u00e0 projet Hexagram-ELEKTRA 2021.
