Aux Philippines et \u00e0 Singapore, un large \u00e9ventail de mus\u00e9es et de collections de haut niveau fonctionnent comme des infrastructures similaires \u00e0 travers le monde. \u00c0 d&rsquo;autres endroits, toutefois, l&rsquo;espace pour la pratique curatoriale se situe dans les studios o\u00f9 des \u0153uvres d&rsquo;art sont produites, dans le cadre de programmes de r\u00e9sidences d&rsquo;artiste, qui sont souvent dirig\u00e9s par des artistes pour des artistes, ou au sein de plus petites organisations cr\u00e9\u00e9es dans la plupart des cas par des artistes en raison du manque d&rsquo;espaces d\u00e9di\u00e9s \u00e0 la pr\u00e9sentation d&rsquo;art, \u00e0 la rencontre et \u00e0 la discussion. La profession de conservateur est relativement nouvelle, et maintes fois ce sont les artistes qui prennent l&rsquo;initiative de pr\u00e9senter leur travail et celui de leurs pairs.<\/p>\n<p>De quelle fa\u00e7on les artistes, conservateurs et historiens de l&rsquo;art travaillent-ils avec la complexit\u00e9 d&rsquo;un lieu en particulier et comment r\u00e9pondent-ils aux sp\u00e9cificit\u00e9s locales ainsi qu&rsquo;aux attentes internationales? Vu l&rsquo;histoire complexe de cette r\u00e9gion, il est primordial de reconna\u00eetre une multitude de voix. Il en r\u00e9sulte donc un syst\u00e8me artistique hautement diversifi\u00e9, qui s&rsquo;\u00e9loigne des formats traditionnels pour inclure des plateformes nouvelles ou alternatives, allant du colloque au travail de terrain, avec pour objectif de mettre l&rsquo;accent sur la production et la pratique curatoriale en tant que processus de pens\u00e9e critique transcendant les pr\u00e9sentations et repr\u00e9sentations.<\/p>\n<p>La conf\u00e9rence sera suivie d&rsquo;une discussion entre Ute Meta Bauer, Barbara Clausen (conservatrice \/ historienne de l&rsquo;art, UQAM) et Alice Jim (conservatrice \/ historienne de l&rsquo;art, Hexagram).<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"uk-button uk-button-secondary\" href=\"#doc\">DOCUMENTATION<\/a><\/p>\n<h5>Note biographique<\/h5>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"pull-left uk-margin-right\" src=\"https:\/\/hexagram.uqam.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/ute-bauer_portrait.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p><b>Ute Meta Bauer<\/b><br \/>\nUte Meta Bauer est la directrice fondatrice de NTU CCA Singapore et professeure \u00e0 la School of Art, Design and Media de la Nanyang Technological University (NTU) de Singapore. Elle \u00e9tait auparavant professeure associ\u00e9e (2005-2012) au Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) de Cambridge, aux \u00c9tats-Unis, o\u00f9 elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 directrice fondatrice du MIT Program in Art, Culture, and Technology. Depuis plus de 30 ans, Ute Meta Bauer travaille comme conservatrice et directrice et, depuis 1996, en tant que professeure en art contemporain. Elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 co-commissaire de la Documenta11, directrice artistique de la troisi\u00e8me Biennale d&rsquo;art contemporain de Berlin et directrice fondatrice du Bureau d&rsquo;art contemporain de Norv\u00e8ge. Co-commissaire du pavillon des \u00c9tats-Unis \u00e0 la 56e Biennale de Venise avec Paul Ha, directeur du MIT List Center for Visual Art, elle y a pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 l&rsquo;\u00e9minente artiste Joan Jonas.
