Communications and Productions Assistant

Start Date: Week of January 27, at the latest.   

Under the supervision of the General Coordinator and in collaboration with the Communications Manager, the Communications and Productions Assistant supports the activities of the Hexagram Network.

We prioritize the hiring of our active members enrolled at one of the partner institutions: Concordia, ÉTS, McGill, NAD-UQAC, Université Laval, UQAM, UdeM, or UQAT.


 Employment Details

  • Contract of 150 hours per semester, 10 hours/week;   
  • Hourly rate determined based on UQAM’s current salary standards for research students;   
  • The mandate may be renewed at the end of each semester;   
  • Mostly remote work. However, in-person meetings with the coordination team will be proposed.*   
  • The recruited individual must provide their own computer as a working tool.   

*Days to be determined and can be adjusted according to the place of residence. Reimbursement of travel expenses may be possible.   

 Desired Profile

  • Interest in research-creation in media arts, design, technology, and digital culture.   
  • Autonomy, organizational skills, and commitment to collaborative work.   
  • Strong writing skills.   
  • Bilingual in French and English, both written and spoken.   
  • Good knowledge of WordPress.   
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Word, Excel, Teams);   
  • Knowledge of creative tools such as Adobe Suite, Canva, etc., is an asset.   
  • Familiarity with the academic research environment is an asset.   

 Tasks and Responsibilities   

In collaboration with the Communications Manager, the Assistant will:   

  • Handle follow-ups related to the DEMO program.   
  • Update the Network’s website.   
  • Translate and edit texts.   
  • Post on social media.   
  • Participate in event planning.   
  • Gather data and feedback related to the network’s communications and activities.   
  • Maintain the press file.   
  • Organize and archive documents.   
  • Prepare communications for members.   
  • Contribute to writing reports and meeting minutes.   
  • Perform any other related tasks.
