CALLS: Rencontres interdisciplinaires EMERGENCE/Y 2022

Hexagram’s 2021-2022 Interdisciplinary season programming on the theme EMERGENCE/Y launched last September at the Ars Electronica Festival, following an initial call for projects. Hexagram presented a series of synchronous and asynchronous streaming-based events specifically curated and produced for the Festival. Over 50 co-investigator members, student members and Hexagram collaborators, as well as their collaborators, presented their most recent work, research and contributed insightful live discussions to the four-day programme.

Hexagram GALA 2021 : The Network is 20 years old!

Over the last 20 years, Hexagram has played a seminal role in the recognition of practice-based art and design research in Canada and abroad, as well as in promoting knowledge-sharing between artistic and scientific disciplines. Founded in 2001, the Network supports research-creation projects and fosters collaborations amongst its members from eight Québec research institutions, as well as with local and international partners from the academic, cultural and creative sectors. We will be celebrating this milestone on December 2nd, at the Hexagram GALA of Emerging Researchers.

DEMO10 Antoine Bellemare – Numina

November 2021

This DEMO from Antoine Bellemare is intended to illustrate the interactive experience of using Numina, a brain-computer interface dedicated to the exploration of mental states through neurofeedback. To present Numina congruently with its primary intention, which is to alter perception using signals derived from brain activity, Bellemare created a video that mimics the embodiment of the experience.
