Novembre 3-4, 2023
— AGORA DU CŒUR DES SCIENCES, 175 ave du Président-Kennedy, Montreal
The event “Arts sonores et transduction des genres” is the first part of the “Musiques cachées Musiques cachées – écouter la diversité sonore” laboratory. This first part gives particular prominence to female music composers and artists whose work stands apart from that of the cultural industries.
Inspired by philosopher Gilbert Simondon’s notion of transduction, “an operation physical, biological, mental, social, by which an activity is propagated from within a domain, by basing this propagation on a structuring of the domain structuring of the domain from place to place”, this event favours a “transductive” approach to sound arts, as much to “genders” linked to identity.
The event will be held in French.
A event by André Éric Létourneau
Coordination: Gabrielle Couillard
