Résumé

Atmosphères is a research-creation program that has produced a series of artistic installations since 1997, called “Cloud Harps.”

These wooden sculptures incorporate sensors that collect atmospheric data, which is then transformed into sound and musical sequences by a human composer through a custom synthesis environment.

The article explores the conceptual and technological challenges of real-time cloud capture, addressing the limitations and artifacts of the sensors and their harmonious integration with the spatio-temporal aspects of the in situ artistic installations.
