Recurring Partnerships

To achieve its knowledge-sharing objectives, Hexagram develops structuring partnerships for its network.

ELEKTRA

ELEKTRA presents and promotes works created at the intersections of contemporary art and new technologies, inscribed in the latest aesthetic currents of research and experimentation. Since 1999, the organization has been hosting the International Digital Art Festival, the International Digital Art Biennial (BIAN) since 2012, and the International Digital Art Market (MIAN) since 2007. Additionally, it has managed its own gallery since 2019.

Members of Hexagram regularly contribute to Elektra’s various activities. Thanks to our partnership, two exhibitions are reserved annually to present the research-creation results of our members.

MUTEK

MUTEK is a Montreal not-for-profit organization dedicated to the dissemination and development of digital creativity in sound, music, and audio-visual art. Since 2000, its mandate is to provide a platform for the most original and visionary artists currently working in their fields, with the intent of providing an outlet of initiation and discovery for the audiences we seek to develop. A MUTEK network exists today, with ramifications in North America, South America, Asia and Europe.

In addition to its namesake festival, the organization also founded the MUTEK Forum, an international gathering and marketplace of ideas on digital culture, art, technology, and society. This platform allows Hexagram members to present their research-creation results to the Montreal public and visitors from abroad.

Nuit blanche & Le Festival Montréal/Nouvelles Musiques

Since 2019, for the Nuit blanche à Montréal, Hexagram has presented a concert series in collaboration with UQAM’s Groupe de recherche sur la médiatisation du son (GRMS) and the Festival Montréal/Nouvelles Musiques (MNM) Société de musique contemporaine du Québec (SMCQ). The program includes creations by the Network members
