CALL FOR NEW STUDENT MEMBERS

Hexagram launches its call for applications to become a student member of the Network. Hexagram integrates student members into an interdisciplinary research-creation community that includes expertise in arts, performances, media, sound, design, and engineering, combined with other research approaches in the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences.

The network consists of 45 co-investigators and more than 200 collaborator and student members. It works with several cultural organizations and research institutions in Quebec, Canada and abroad to promote collaborative research-creation activities, exchange knowledge among experts from different disciplines, and disseminate new forms of creation in the public sphere.


ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • Be a graduate, post-graduate or post-doctoral student;
  • Be enrolled in a Quebec university affiliated with the Réseau;
  • Have a study project in line with the research-creation objectives and programming of the Network;
  • Be directed, co-directed or supervised by a Hexagram co-investigator;
  • Exceptionally, applications from undergraduate students will be evaluated by the Executive Committee ;

Membership is valid until the end of the program, but must be re-evaluated in the following cases:

  • Change of research advisor;
  • Change in the subject of research;
  • Change of institutional affiliation.


BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP

  • Eligibility to participate in various calls for projects and funding competitions related to the program, including international mobility activities (Hexa_Out), inter-university research-creation residencies (DEMO), and a biennial international symposium (Rencontres Interdisciplinaires);
  • Participate in dissemination activities organized with our cultural and professional partners, at events such as BIAN, MUTEK, FNC, or exhibit as part of the ELEKTRA gallery programming;
  • Apply to Hexagrams’ job opportunities;
  • Participate in the Executive Committee, Programming Committee, and Founding Committees of partner institutions;
  • Disseminate news of research activities through the Network’s communication tools (mailing list to over 2,000 subscribers and publications in various social media).
