The Rencontres Interdisciplinaires is a biennial conference. It aims to bring together all members of the Hexagram Network and invite key speakers from other Canadian provinces and abroad.

By combining perspectives from different disciplines at the intersection of arts, science, and technology, the program examines the evolution of research-creation.

Start Date: June 2025

End Date: June 2026


Employment Terms

  • Contract over four terms for approximately 300 hours, at a rate of five to seven hours per week, with increased intensity around the event.
  • Hourly rate determined according to UQAM’s current wage standards for research students.
  • The mandate can be renewed at the end of each term.
  • Tasks can be performed remotely. However, in-person meetings with the coordination team will be proposed.
  • The recruited person must provide their own computer as a work tool.

*Days to be determined and possibility to adjust according to the place of residence. Travel expenses may be reimbursed.

Desired Profile

  • Significant experience in organizing conferences, congresses, or symposiums.
  • Experience as a professional research staff, an asset.
  • Enrolled in a graduate program at a Quebec university.
  • In-depth knowledge of research-creation.
  • Knowledge of UQAM’s administrative services.
  • Autonomy, organizational skills, and commitment to collaborative work.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Knowledge of Office 360 Suite (Word, Excel, and Teams).
  • Good writing skills.
  • Bilingual in French and English, both spoken and written.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the general coordinator and in collaboration with the coordination team, the person is responsible for:

  • Supporting the programming committee.
  • Planning and documenting meetings.
  • Proactively following up on programming.
  • Formatting the scientific program of the event.
  • Planning and executing logistics.
  • Writing various texts: call for papers, program, press release.
  • Preparing budgets, schedules, and daily event proceedings.
  • Ensuring follow-ups with organizers and speakers.
  • Drafting and submitting agreements and contracts.
  • Listing technical needs.
  • Planning human resource needs.
  • Booking accommodations, transportation, and other hospitality.
  • Obtaining necessary authorizations and permits.
  • Producing a final report.
  • And any other related tasks.
