Twice a year, the Network welcomes new members into its interdisciplinary research-creation community. 

By becoming a member, you will benefit from expertise in visual arts, performing arts, media arts, sound arts, design, and engineering. You will also be connected to various research approaches in the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences.

This call is for students enrolled in one of our 8 partner institutions whose studies are supervised, co-supervised, or supervised by a co-researcher member.


WHAT IS HEXAGRAM? 

Hexagram is a strategic network funded by the FRQ-SC. It includes over 250 co-investigator, collaborating, and student members. 

The Network collaborates with numerous cultural organizations and institutions in Quebec, Canada, and internationally, allowing it to promote collaborative research-creation activities. 

Hexagram also fosters knowledge exchange between experts from different disciplines and supports the dissemination of new forms of creation within various practice communities.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • Be a graduate, post-graduate or postdoctoral student.
  • Be enrolled in a Quebec university affiliated with the Network.
  • Have a study project in line with the research-creation objectives and programming of the Network.
  • Be directed, co-directed or supervised by a co-investigator member.
  • Exceptionally, applications from undergraduate students will be evaluated by the Executive Committee.

BENEFITS OF BEING A MEMBER

  • Be eligible for various calls for projects and funding related to our programming, including international mobility activities (Hexa_Out), inter-university research-creation residencies (DEMO), and a biennial international symposium (Rencontres Interdisciplinaires).
  • Participate in dissemination activities organized with our cultural and professional partners, such as MUTEK, ELEKTRA, and .able.
  • Apply for developmental job opportunities connected to the Network’s activities.
  • Participate in one of our committees.
  • Disseminate news of your research activities through the Network’s communication tools (over 2,000 followers).

Membership status is valid until the end of the program, but must be re-evaluated in the following cases :

  • Change of research advisor.
  • Change in the subject of research.
  • Change of institutional affiliation.

For those directed or co-direted by a co-investigator member

Fill in this form before the deadline. The co-investigator member will need to confirm the directorship or co-directorship of your studies.

For those supervised by a co-investigator member

Please ask the co-researcher who supervises you to send us a letter of recommendation. This letter should explain the nature of the supervision and your connection with research-creation in art, culture, and technology.
