As part of the Festival Montréal/Nouvelles Musique, the Groupe de Recherche sur la Médiatisation du Son (GRMS) in close collaboration with the Société de musique contemporaine du Québec (SMCQ), matralab, Hexagram and the Canada Research Chair in Opera Creation presents two free events.

Symposium Nouvelles avenues et continuité : l’instrument et l’humain en mutation

Within the framework of the MNM symposium Musique et transcendance à l’ère du post-humanisme (Music and Transcendence in the Age of Post-Humanism) and associated with the concert event La Grande Nuit, the GRMS presents the colloquium “Nouvelles avenues et continuité : l’instrument et l’humain en mutation”
This event looks at new approaches to instruments and sound performances, based among other things on electronics, software programming, artificial intelligence, as well as on logi-acoustic instruments, distinguishing the different strata of research-creation and their inter-relationships.

La Grande Nuit, 4th Edition
Montréal, February 25, 2023 from 6:30pm to 2:30am.A free concert-event which will introduce you to the music of local and international composers. A night of sound in the unique architectural spaces of the former foundry, now the Agora Hydro-Québec: citizens will be able to attend an immersive performance under a dome of 32 speakers.
