Hexagram’s 2021-2022 Interdisciplinary season programming on the theme EMERGENCE/Y will launch on the week of September 7-11, as part of the 2021 edition of the Ars Electronica Festival. Hexagram will present a series of synchronous and asynchronous streaming-based events specifically curated and produced for the Festival.
At the end of April, the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Société et culture released the results of the evaluation of some 15 strategic clusters that applied for funding this fall.
We are very pleased to announce that Hexagram has received a total of $1,827,000 in support over the next seven years, from 2020 to 2027. Indeed, in response to the current pandemic context, the Fonds de recherche du Québec has decided to support its many researchers for an additional year. We are extremely grateful for this support.
ISEA 2020 – International Symposium on Electronic Arts @ Montreal
Fall intensive online course: MUSI 398 GA / EAST 398 GA [3 credits]
The intensive ISEA 2020 short program will offer undergraduate and graduate students from a variety of fine arts backgrounds an opportunity to work on self-proposed (electronic art) research-creation projects, to participate in pre-symposium lectures and workshops, and to attend one of the leading events on electronic arts. This special intensive program allows students from other universities to participate, too.
In just one month, the world for much of the planetary population has radically transformed. Daily life has ground to a halt. Political, economic, educational, medical, cultural and social systems have been upended. The old ways of living and doing have been suspended. The pause button has finally been pressed.
The Hexagram network and ELEKTRA are pleased to announce a joint call for projects aimed at students and artist-researchers from the Hexagram network to exhibit at the Galerie ELEKTRA located in the heart of the Mile-End, a major support and dissemination centre for the artistic community. Since its opening in 2019, Galerie ELEKTRA’s mandate is to create a space for aesthetic and discursive research through digital artistic production. In this context, the Hexagram-ELEKTRA partnership has for objective to encourage exchanges between cultural and academic communities in the field of digital arts. The selected projects will be part of the Galerie ELEKTRA’s programming between January and December 2021.
It is with great pleasure that we present the laureates of the 2020 Hexagram Student Grant Competition. You will find here a summary of the supported projects. You will also have the opportunity to find out more about each of them at the very friendly Gala of Laureates to be held in December 2020!
Deadline to apply: Friday, March 20, 2020 at 5:00 p.m.
