Through a series of interdisciplinary improvisations initiated by Nancy Bussières and Julie Trudel, the artist‑researchers activate a sculptural, robotic, and light‑based apparatus that unfolds a field of sensitive relationships between sound, light, movement, and presence.
Meet the researchers during this activity associated with Chantier Performa, presented as part of the 2026 Interdisciplinary Encounters.
About the Researchers

Nancy Bussières, co‑investigator member, is a professor at the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) and a researcher in media arts. Her work focuses on digital creation, interactivity, and the relationships between art, technology, and public space. She takes part in various research and creation projects that explore new forms of artistic expression through contemporary technologies.

Julie Trudel, collaborating member, is a professor at UQAM and a visual artist who embraces an expanded definition of painting. Her practice is part of a reflective and conceptual painting movement. She seeks to update traditional issues in abstract painting—mainly colour and materiality—through works that explore new technical approaches in the medium, the support, and spatial presentation.

David St-Onge, co‑investigator member, is a professor at the École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS) and a researcher in engineering and interactive technologies. His work focuses on immersive environments, interactive systems, and technological applications for digital creation and media arts.
