Doctoral student Dali Wu wins an award.

Congratulations to Dali Wu who wins a Bronze Award at the 2020 edition of the annual Japan Illustrators’ Association (JIA) competition. A member of the Hexagram Network she is interested in interdisciplinary and intercultural aspects of art, the environment, digital culture and the posthuman.

Dali Wu, a doctoral student in art studies and practices, is one of the 40 international artists who received this award.

Organized since 2000 by Japan’s largest association of illustrators, this competition aims to identify emerging talent. All illustrators, professional or amateur, are invited to participate. No theme is proposed and all genres are accepted (hand painting, digital and 3D works).

Originally from China, Dali Wu completed a master’s degree in fine arts at the Haute École des Arts du Rhin, in France, before undertaking her doctorate at UQAM. She has presented her work in several exhibitions and art festivals in China, France and Canada.
